Pak responsible for "Unprercedented" Ceasefire Violations: Azad | | | Jammu, Aug 27: Holding Pakistan responsible for the recent unabated rise in ceasefire violations on the International border and Line of Control, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad strongly condemned Pakistan's continued attempts to disturb tranquility and peace on the borders of Jammu & Kashmir, particularly in Jammu District. Referring to the statement of DG BSF which appeared in media yesterday describing current firing on the borders as "heaviest since 1971 war's Azad has said it is a matter of grave concern and that Pakistan should be held squarely responsible for heightened ceasefire violations. Azad said that the fresh spate of ceasefire violations on the borders going on for the last two months has led to loss of numerous precious lives and caused injuries to many more, in addition, to the collateral damage of huge quantum. "Life of lacs of people living in the border belt has become miserable for which Pakistan is to be condemned in unequivocal terms", said Sh Azad adding that Pakistani forces have crossed all limits this time and it is high time to send a clear message to put an end to its misadventures. While condemning Pakistan in unequivocal terms, Azad said that NDA Government should abandon its rhetorics aimed only at public consumption and adopt a more imaginative and coherent policy to deal with the increasing hostility of Pakistan. |
