District administration stops 'Relief' carrying trucks at Lakhanpur for scrutiny | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Sept 23: To keep-off illegal entry of goods from outer states in the shadow of Relief for flash flood victims of J&K, district administration initiating step has set up a checking pointy at Lakhanpur. In joist of this, district administration stopped several trucks at Lakhanpur and allowed them to proceed ahead. Expressing his views to media persons, Tehsildar Jitender Mishra said that to avoid any illegal entry of goods in the state government has ordered to allow the vehicles carrying relief material only if they are having certificate from the DDC or SDM of their concerning areas. "Government has adopted this step as there were news that some miscreant businessmen are trying to import their goods without paying tax and toll", Mishra said. Jitender Mishra said that today they found some organizations without required document, as they were not aware of the rule. To save them from hassle, administration is collecting Registration Certificates of the vehicles and asking them to bring letter from DDC or SDM of the area where they are going to dispose-off relief material. "The moment the organizations of truck driver comes here with certificate, he could collect the Registration Certificate of vehicle from the counter", Tehsildar said. |
