Udhampur, Oct 30: Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued ten animals besides arresting three bovine smugglers during a raid in the areas falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur. "Based on reliable information, a Police party of Police Station Udhampur led by Inspector Mahesh Sharma, SHO Police Station Udhampur laid a surprise naka near Jakhani National Highway and intercepted one Truck bearing regd no JK13-2672 and rescued ten bovine animals with the arrest of three smugglers," police said. Police said, "The bovine smugglers arrested have been identified namely as Driver Feroz Ahmed of Pantha Chowk Srinagar, Conductor Umar Gani of H-164, Gazoora Srinagar and Owner Shabir Ahmed of Gadigarh Jammu." In this connection, a case FIR No. 414/14 U/S 188/RPC, 3 PCA stands registered in Police Station Udhampur and further investigation is on. |
