Asserting that the Congress-led coalition Government of 2006-08 successfully broke the myth that development is a utopian dream, leader of Opposition in RajyaSabha& Former Chief Minister GhulamNabi Azad said that fruits of development were successfully percolated equitably and judiciously to all the regions of the State, especially the hitherto neglected and marginalised areas. He added that this proactive dispersal of developmental dividend left deep imprint on the hearts and minds of the people.
"We made 'development' as a narrative and discourse in the State, and dispersed the fruits of development in every nook and corner of the State", said senior Congress leader Azad.
Azad said if voted to power 'development' will again become the buzzword in the State and all the regions, sub-regions, remote and backward areas of the State will witness massive push on the front of infrastructure building and developmental activity.
Expressing confidence that the people of Chenab region will stand united against the conspiracies being hatched by outside forces to divide them, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and former Chief Minister of J&K, GhulamNabi Azad said, "Congress has given a sense of belonging and identity to the backward and neglected region of the State called Chenab region.
Azad said that those who don't want this neglected region of Chenab Valley to flourish are plotting to divide its people on religious lines, adding that the mature and sagacious people of Jammu & Kashmir will defeat the nefarious design of divisive and regressive forces.
Reminding the people that this new found status to Chenab Valley has not come without any premium, Azad said that he is confident that people of this region are not so naïve to fritter away this strength and unity on the instigation of external forces.
Underlining the need to further accelerate the process of progress and development in the Chenab region, Azad assured the people that yet another united show will enable him to fulfill his dream of converting this into a "Model Region" of the state.
"I have a dream of making a modern and progressive Chenab Valley which will be an example for the State and if people show their confidence in me, I will give them the desired results", said Azad.
Cautioning people to choose that Party with record of initiating the developmental activities in Chenab region, Azad said that those who are selling dreams and are bent upon dividing the people are the real enemies of Chenab Valley. "People need to understand who benefits from the politics of polarization", said Azad adding that Congress & its leadership have spent their lives to foster harmony and peace between the people of various regions, religions and communities.
Pointing to Party's resolve to raise voice for Chenab Valley, he assured, " I will use my full capacity and capability to serve the people of the State and Chenab Valley in future as well."
