JAMMU, Nov 12: Hosts Jammu district emerged overall champion in under-19 and under-14 categories while under-17 trophy went to district Kathua in the three-day inter-district state level athletics meet which was organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at BSF Stadium, here today. The overall second position in under-19 category was secured by district Kathua while Jammu district remained runners-up in under-17 age group. In under-14 category, Anantnag finished second in medals tally. In the finals of the left out track events of 200 meters and 4x100 meters, followed by the valedictory function, Principal Secretary, Home, Suresh Kumar was chief guest, who gave away overall title trophies to the teams and medals to individual athletes. Inspector General of BSF Jammu Frontier, Rakesh Sharma was guest of honour while the function presided over by the Director General, Youth Services and Sports, Navin Agarwal. The Detailed Results: Under-19 yr: 200 mtrs: Bazama Farooq, Anantnag, 1st; Sapna Devi, Kathua, 2nd; Riya Manhas, Reasi, 3rd. Under-17 yr: 200 mts: Sonia Shah, Rajouri, 1st; Floery Zakir, Kulgam, 2nd; Iqrah Farooq, Shopian, 3rd. 4x100 mts Relay: Kathua, 1st; Jammu, 2nd and Udhampur, 3rd.
