Poll norms in air: Contractual JKPCC employee throws his hat in Poll arena | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Nov 12: 'Many don't cares for the restrictions' and this is evident from the candidature of an contractual employee of Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) Ltd from Kishtwar assembly segment who in a brazen violation of service rules and regulations has thrown his hat in poll arena as an independent candidate and is one of the contenders from Kishtwar segment which is going to polls under first phase on November 25.. As per the details available, an independent candidate identified namely as Jaswant Singh s/o Surinder Kumar of BeganaKishtwar is a consolidated employee working with Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) Ltd and is posted at an undergoing construction project i.e. new complex for Office of District Commissioner Kishtwar in the capital town of district. Sources within the JKPCC informed the "Early Times" that the Independent candidate from Kishtwar constituency who has been assigned election symbol "Candle" on ballot papers by the Chief Electoral Officer Jammu and Kashmir is withdrawing a regular salary @Rs 4500/month and is also entitled for regularization of service after seven years as per the new policy introduced by the Jammu and Kashmir government few months back. Sources further informed that the said independent candidate has not resigned from his government services and has neither mentioned the same in his affidavit filed by him before Returning Officer Kishtwar Assembly. After scrutinizing the details of nomination papers filed by Jaswant Singh before RO Kishtwar available on official website of District administration Kishtwar, Jaswant has not mentioned anything about his service in JKPCC nor has attached any resignation letter along with nomination papers. Here it needs to mention that besides Jaswant Singh, other prominent candidates in fray from Kishtwar constituency include Nek Ram Manhas of Congress, Firdous Ahmed Tak (PDP), Sunil Kumar Sharma (BJP), Des Raj Baghat of BSP, AjaizHussainNaik (NCP), Gulzar Ahmed (Independent), Mohammad Amin Butt (JDS), Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo (NC) and Farooq Ahmed Ahanger (JK Peoples Party). Now people and the candidates in poll fray are looking towards the nodal authorities what action they take against the candidate who concealed requisite and mandatory information about his candidature before filing his nomination form infront of the concerned Returning Officer on the other day and didn't dare to withdraw his nomination knowing the fact that his candidature may be disqualified if the concealed information is revealed. |
