Nirmal's candidature gives sleepless night to Cong 11/13/2014 12:47:06 AM Sanjay Pathak Kathua, Nov 12 : Decision of BJP to give mandate to DrNirmal Singh from Billawar assembly segment has given sleepless night to Congress because he (Dr Singh) has already done a lot of ground work. Congress leadership was expecting that BJP will give mandate to either Satish Sharma or Narayan Dutt but party has decided to give ticket to its campaign committee chief DrNirmal Singh for Billawar segment so Congress has reasons to be worried. On the one hand, DrNirmal Singh's wife Mamta Singh has already started work among women in Billawar assembly segment while on the other hand his son Vikram Singh has mobilized a number of youth in favour of his father. Dr Nirmal Singh has already gained ground because for the last five years he has been working in Udhampur-DodaLokSabha segment so his target areas were Billawar, Basholi, Kathua, Hiranagar and Bani assembly segments. Although he was denied mandate for Udhampur-Doda seat, he has gone a good work in Billawar which is going to give him dividends in the coming assembly elections. In the five assembly segments of Kathua districts, Congress had hope on only Billawar seat because sitting party MLA DrManoharLal was considered as safe but now situation has been changed. After BJP gives mandate to DrNirmal Singh, it is believed that Congress will have to face to difficult task in Kathua.
