Reen promises 'holistic development' of Gandhi Nagar | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 11 : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) contesting candidate for Gandhi Nagar constituency S Amrik Singh Reen today promised holistic development of the constituency if he is elected to power. Conducting door to campaign and addressing meetings at Rahim Nagar, Digiana, Channi Himmat, Bahu Fort, Reen took a jibe at MLA Gandhi Nagar and said that incumbent MLA including the Congress leadership in Jammu and Kashmir has lost credibility among masses which was evident from the rally of AICC President Sonia Gandhi at MA Stadium where people were seen moving out of the venue when AICC President Sonia Gandhi started her address. "This was an indicator of the fact that public was not happy with the performances of Congress leaders in the state who were in coalition with the National Conference for a period of six years and during this period, most of the developmental works were at standstill whereas corruption and favoritism has increased manifold in all the government departments, he added. Reen said public has already expressed its resentment with the NC-Congress government during the Lok Sabha polls, when both the coalition partners had failed to get even a single parliamentary seat from Jammu, Kashmir as well as Ladakh region of the state. Reen made a fervent appeal to the voters to strengthen the party at grass root level and promised that if he will be elected to power, settling issues of Gandhi Nagar will be his top priority. Surjeet Kour, Harmeet Singh, Varinder Singh Sonu, Deepak Handa and others also addressed the gatherings. |
