Blames BJP for 'forced conversion' in Valley; they are killers, BJP hits back
NC calls ex-army men, IB officers enemies of Kashmiris

Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 11: Fearing worst ever defeat in the ongoing assembly elections, the ruling National Conference is trying its best to polarize the environment in Srinagar, where polls for eight assembly constituencies are slated to be held on Sunday.
The official spokesman of the National Conference Junaid Azim Mattu today took to the twitter and wrote: "BJP's covert #Forced Conversion already in place in #Kashmir. Consider most of their unknown 'candidates', 'spokespersons' here 'converted'."
Talking to a local news agency Mattu, who was earlier associated with Sajad Lone's Peoples Conference (PC), said: "There is no doubt that there are conversions but they are political conversions, cultural conversions and other sorts of conversions. The BJP has included ex-Intelligence Bureau officers, ex-army men and other people, who are enemies of Kashmir people, society and culture."
Asked does he mean religious conversion by saying 'forced conversion', Mattu said: "I mean political conversions. You can see people bowing down with their hands fold before Narendra Modi. These things tell us actual story."
The NC spokesman called the former officers of the intelligence agencies and former army men as enemies of Kashmiri people, society and culture. "How can a spokesman of a mainstream party call the former officers who have served in Kashmir during difficult times as enemies of people. It seems he has forgotten that if these people had not worked hard during the militancy period no mainstream party would have existed in JK," said a politician.
Taking a dig at Mattu he said, "The NC spokesman is a young chap who is unaware about what happened in Kashmir during the past two decades. He (Mattu) came from America and sat in the lap of Sajad Lone first and then joined NC, which would vanish from the political arena of JK by end of this month."
The politician said that if NC considers pro-India people as enemies of Kashmiris, its leaders should give up the security cover and other privileges they enjoy and join the separatist camp. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi's straightforward approach and his growing popularity in Jammu and Kashmir are making NC feel insecure and party leaders have realized that they are all set to become history."
The BJP's nominated candidate for Amira Kadal assembly constituency Dr Hina Bhat while talking to Early Times said: "People who are talking about the forced conversion have no religion nor they have anything to do with humanity. They are killers of Kashmiri Muslims. They are the people who spearheaded the killings of Kashmiris. They don't know anything about their religion."
She said she has a regard for the Prime Minister NarendraModi and that is why she bowed before him. "He is the king of the country and as a mark of respect I bowed," she said. "My first religion is humanity," she added.
"Where was their religion and humanity when Kashmiri Pandits where thrown out of the Valley without any mercy," Hina added.
The National Conference raking up the issue of "forced conversions" ahead of the fourth phase of the assembly elections seems to be a well planned move aimed at creating confusion among the people in Srinagar. The NC, which won all the eight assembly seats from Srinagar in 2008, seems to have realized that people are showing inclination towards BJP as the party president Amit Shah addressed an impressive gathering at Rajbagh in uptown here today. "NC biting dust in the most assembly segments in the city in last parliamentary polls is giving its leaders sleepless nights and they too have realized that Srinagar won't prove to be a cake walk for them," said an analyst.
