Jammu, Dec 11: BJP seems to have become butt of a joke in the electioneering. The party especially its leaders have been consistently getting their facts wrong and it's giving their opponents to cock- a-snook at the presumably rightist party attempting to form the government in the Muslim majority J&K.
BJP president Amit Shah addressing a first ever public rally in Kashmir had said tourists are not coming to the Kashmir and held the NC,PDP an Congress for it. It was not based on facts and Omar, as usual, was quick to take on the BJP's strong man.
Tweeting he said 50-lakh people had visited the valley and also said: "Please stop misleading voters when you tell them people don't visit Kashmir, it doesn't behove the president of the BJP."
It was not for the first time that Omar has hit out at the BJP. He had in the past also hit out at the PM for mixing Art 370 with the State laws, when Modi had said why can't the sisters of the Omar have same rights as he enjoys,.
It seems that BJP is either deliberately making mistakes or is being not misled by the state leadership.
"The PM and the party president can't be expected to make factually incorrect statements.
If they are doing it and also consistently, then it seems there is something more to it," said a senior BJP leader, who has been sidelined now a days.
This does gain currency as there are rumours going on in the political circle that NC and BJP have got into an understanding and these factual incorrect statements which give other a chance to counter them are actually a facade of mudslinging to hide the real intent and understanding.
The Congress has already been hitting out at the BJP for this supposed understanding.
"BJP and NC are deliberately hitting out at each other to give pretence that they are opponents but the real intentions are hidden in deliberately making factual incorrect statements," said a senior BJP leader. |
