Early Times Report
Anantnag, Dec 11: Accusing regional parties of deceiving Congress during the past 12 years, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and senior congress leader GhulamNabi Azad today said that his party accepted Omar's unacceptable decisions and allowed the government to complete term. Addressing the poll rallies and gatherings at several places in Anantnag district, GhulamNabi Azad accused National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party of deceiving the Congress party. "For the sake of development and betterment of Jammu and Kashmir Congress party entered into collation with regional parties but unfortunately both of them deceived people of state and congress by taking anti-people decision." Azad said. He said that Congress party accepted the unacceptable decisions of Omar Abdullah government and allowed the government to complete term. "It because of congress Omar Abdullah completed his term otherwise the decisions he took were unacceptable to us as they were anti-people decisions." Azad said, adding congress cooperated for the development of the state. Confessing that entering into collation with regional parties was compulsion, Azad said, "Had congress cooperated with Sheikh Shah, he would have completed the term was a commonly used argument which we wanted to erase by supporting the regional parties but both the parties deceived us." Claiming Jammu Kashmir witnessed tremendous development in the his 3 years of tenure, Azad said that Congress party will emerge as the single largest party in the ongoing assembly elections and form the next government in the state without the help of regional parties. |
