PDP having edge in Devsar, Anantnag constituencies | | | Sandeep Bhat
JAMMU, Dec 11 : The area of south Kashmir is witnessing a large number of people participating in the election process and this is good for the strengthening of democracy. Through the process of elections, one can elect a candidate of one's choice who can redress the problems of the people of the area. In this activity, people decide whom to elect and whom to reject. In Anantnag constituency, PDP is leading and is having an edge over Congress and NC. PDP candidate, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who is also party patron and former chief minister of the state, is clearly having an edge over his nearest rival candidate of Congress Hilal Shah though latter is giving him tough fight. This seat is prestigious seat for PDP as this constituency represents their patron. Former MP and senior NC leader Mehboob Beig has already announced his support to PDP and as per information, he has also joined PDP. The Kashmiri Pandit migrant voters will also play an important role in electing the candidate. Same is the situation in Devsar constituency where deputy speaker Sartaj Madni is likely to be re-elected from the area as his opponents don't stand anywhere in front of him. The votes of Kashmiri Pandit migrant voters here also are in good numbers and it is only the matter of time to see that PDP will repeat its performance. |
