Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 27: The Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) administration had preferred a blue eyed junior electrician over seniors for Junior Engineering training. Moreover, the same electrician has been stationed at GMC since his appointment nearly two decades ago.
Sources informed Early Times that Manoj Gupta presently working as Electrician in GMC was firstly appointed as Nursing Order (NO) after that he was appointed as an electrician in 1994 and the administration has deploy to GMC auditorium. In spite of lapse 20 years, GMC administration has failed to transfer the electrician. However, dozens of employees doing job in same department same post and their transfers had done by administration time to time within associated hospital.
"The other employee of the department doing their duty in three shifts and also transferred time and again but the blue eyed doing their job at one place and doing duty only working hours for years, that shows something fishy between the administration and an electrician, otherwise what's the reason that administration has failed to transfer it", sources alleged and adding that previous months the GMC administration has done that was not expected by single employee of the department.
Sources further said that some employees have applied for pursing diploma course of engineering but the administration has refused to allow them for training, though the employees who apply for pursing course that is senior and their job balance would be same as the electrician preferred for training.
"Without any priority or notice to senior employees of said department, about their training. GMC principal has forwarded a letter in favour of Electrician Manoj Gupta to under secretary to government health and medical education department for the permission to allow for pursing Diploma course of engineering in Private or Government polytechnic", sources said.
They further said that the under secretary to government health and medical education department nelson eye had allowed them for pursuing Diploma course in Electrical Engineering in NITS polytechnic. He directed them to submit the study leave case to the administrative department so that the period to be spent on training is treated as study leave.
However, GMC administration already knew that the scarcity of electrical staff in GMC he shall attend Manoj Gupta on call duty in the GMC after training hours. Astoundingly their colleges (where they are in training) open during working hours, and where they appointed for call duty also opened only working hours.
Alleging GMC administration, sources said that few officials in administration made policy in favour of electrician without any duty they draw salary and doing work for their own interest.
When contacted, GMC principal Dr. Ghanshyam Dev Gupta said that he was allowed for training in study leave. When this journo asked further question, principal disconnected call. In spite of repeated call to principal, his number out of reached.
