BGSBU students call off their strike | | | Rajouri, Feb 15: The striking students of engineering department of Baba Ghulam Shah Bhadshah University (BGSBU) have called off their agitation, after three days of strike. Students of College of Engineering and Technology (COE&T) were demanding holding of special examinations to clear backlog, declaration of results in time,proper transport facilities, adequate supply of potable water and electricity in hostels/complex etc. University spokesman said that BGSBU administration despite facing financial constraints with meager funding have kept all possible facilities available for the student's community and it is improving the standard day by day. He added BGSBU administration trying hard to mitigate all the issues related to the students but not in favor of any compromise on the standard of education and standard of examination system. "For the benefit of students, authorities may take decision of holding of examination for backlog students. However , students must work hard to avoid any such situation and parents are also requested to guide their wards and make them accountable to pass the general examinations without wasting any time" said spokesman. On the declaration of results, spokesman said that results in every University become little late however this University try to declare it well in time and they will further improve the system in future. "As for as public transport is concerned it is not under the jurisdiction of University, students have still been asked to provide list who want to avail facility and also deposit the requisite fees for the same" said spokesman. |
