BARAMULLA, Feb 15: Karwan-e-Aman Bus Service will resume on Monday and LoC trade from Tuesday. It was decided in a telephonic conversation with the Jafriya Supreme Council Azad Kashmir (JSCAJK) in which few recommendations were put forth in front of State government as well as Central governments of Both the countries, said General Secretary Salamabad-Chakoti Trade Union, Hilal Turkey on Sunday. The Bus service and the trade was suspended after recovery of Brown sugar from a Pakistani truck which had come to India on Feb 7. Hilal Ahmad Turki, General Secretary Salamabad-Chakoti Trade Union telephoned Early Times and said that, " The Karwan-e-Aman Bus service will start on routine basis from Monday on Srinagar-Muzaffarabad Road via Uri, while as the trade across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir will be started from Tuesday respectively. On Feb 12, "22 drivers from Muzaffarabad were stranded at Salamabad Trade Facilitation Centre in Uri town, while 49 drivers from this side of Kashmir were held up at Chakoti, were allowed to proceed to their respective destination across the LoC. After Feb 12, The traders and family members of the arrested driver of Muzaffarbad has made protests in after which they didn't allowed to proceed the Trade and Karwan-e-Aman bus service across the Line of Contol (LOC). Syed Kifayat Hussain Naqvi, President (JSCAJK), and Syed Shabir Hussain Bukhara, Chairperson (JSCAJK), made a telephonic conversation with me, Said Hilal Turki. (JSCAJK), put forth few recommendations like, to provide Legal Aid to the arrested driver, telephonic conversation of driver with his family members, family members should be allowed to meet and visit to the arrested driver from Muzaffarabad-Srinagar road, and the traders community of will bear up all the expenses of family members of arrested driver, Turki added. Turki maintained that (JSCAJK) has also made it clear that Both the countries, India and Pakistan should make such a mechanism in which the originator or guilty will be found and driver must not be involved or punished so that there could be hassle free trade in future. However Turki added and said that, "Amendments and provisions in Confidence Building Measures(CBM) should be made strong, according to him, I brought all these issues into the notice of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Talat Pervez and Financial Commissioner Secretary, who assured me all help and will solve the problem very soon. Syed Hussain Shah the driver from Muzaffarbad, and a local trader Zahoor Ahmad Malla, who was to receive the consignment, continue to remain in police custody. A case under Section 8/21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the duo and investigations are going on. It is pertinent to mention here that on January 2014, authorities had seized drugs worth Rupees 100 crore from a truck coming from Muzaffarabad, which led to brief suspension of cross-Line of Control trade after police arrested the Pakistani driver. |
