JSM criticizes Chancellor for maintaining silence

Jammu, Feb 15: The Jammu Students Morcha today flayed Governor N N Vohra, the Chancellor of the University of Jammu, for maintaining silence against the prevalent corruption in the varsity. According to press release, Vikram Kumar, president JSM while addressing the press conference said that the Governor in a last month chaired meeting of the Vigilance officials, has put deliberations to expedite the cases against the corrupt officials and also tighten noose around the officials indulging in corruption, and stated that those found flawed would be dealt stringently. "The Jammu University which comes under the direct control of the Governor has become heaven for the corrupt and tainted officials under the patronage of acting Vice Chancellor, the Chancellor JU was has turned nelson eye towards the prevailing corruption within University of Jammu, " he added. He alleged that Professors who have not even conducted a single lecture for past couple of years have been rewarded promotions. While some of the officials who were held guilty in cheated scandal was given key designations.
He claimed that the acting VC was giving patronage to the corrupt officials and was trying to play down the misdeeds of tainted people owing to his personal gains.
"If the Governor is really concerned in taking action against the corruption he must start the process from JU which falls under his direct control," he said. Among those who were present in the press-conference included Neha Sharma, Rohit Gupta, Vikrant Singh, Raman Gupta and Anil Gupta.
