Hockey tournament concluded

Jammu, Feb 15: Hockey tournament was organized under the aegis of Civic Action Programme (CAP) by District Jammu Police in Simbal Camp, Miran Sahib concluded today in presence of galaxy of dignitaries, respectable persons of the area, sarpanches, Panches, sports lovers, youth clubs and family of martyrs. The Chief Guest of the occasion was Uttam Chand, SSP Jammu. Mukesh Sharma 4th Dogra, S.K.Punia Lt. Col. 4th Dogra, Lt. Col. P. Ghatraj 2IC 12 Kamaoo, Rajinder Singh treasurer Hockey India, Gen. Sec. Rumal Singh J&K Hockey and Manjeet Singh Reen member Hockey India were also present on the occasion. The tournament was started on 2 Feb 2015 in which 16 Hockey teams participated.
In today's final match Deshmesh Hockey Club defeated Singh Hockey Club, Fareed Nagar by 2-0 and man of tournament was given to Agamdeep Singh from Singh Hockey Club, Fareed Nagar. Satveer Singh and Iqbal Singh were the two umpires in the tournament and they did the great job in whole tournament. Jagjeet Singh and Charanjeet Singh were the technical officers in the tournament. After the conclusion of tournament, Trophies, Medals, track-Suit, sports dress and certificates were distributed among the players and the supporting staff.
Deliberating on the aim and the objective of Civic Action Programme undertaken by J&K Police, S. Randheer Singh, SP Hqrs-Jammu maintained that the programme comprises several schemes for the promotion of youths in sports & cultural arena. Sports enhance mental and physical ability of youth, hones their talent in different capacities viz-a-viz discipline and spirit of team work enables youth to live life in right directions. In this endeavor J&K Police is committed to have drug free society and is looking forward for the support & cooperation from all likeminded social organizations for fighting this menace collectively. Every effort is being made to channelize energies of youths in a positive direction. On the initiative of the J&K Police of the area the president of Brick Kiln Association S. Jagjeet Singh @ Jaga volunteered to sponsor a local Hockey Club under corporate social responsibility. The players were thankful to J&K Police for the this gesture.
The Public of the area was very appreciative of the role of J&K Police in the area and thanked the Police department for organizing these tournaments for bridging the gap between the Public and Police and for development of youth of area and providing them this opportunity to show their talent.
The CAP activities in this area are undertaken under the directions of PHQ, ZPHQ Jammu, RPHQ Jammu and overall supervision of SSP Jammu Sh. Uttam Chand, SP Hqrs. Jammu S.Randheer Singh, SDPO R.S.Pura S. Devinder Singh & SHO P/S Miran Sahib Javed Iqbal.
