JAMMU, Feb 15 : A multispecialty mega free medical and dental camp was conducted at village Kah Potha, Tehsil Jandrah, District Jammu. The camp was organized by Shanti Path Trust (SPT) Trikuta Nagar, Jammu in association with Government Medical College & Hospital (GMC&H), Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC), Director General Indian System of Medicines (ISM),Swami Vivekananda Charitable Hospital (SVCH) and Jan Chetna Rural Development Forum. SPT organizes such camps in isolated and remote area to deliver specialists' health care to under privileged population. Some people from adjoining hills tracked long distances to reach camp site. This is SPT's twenty eighth camp and forth ventures in this area. The camp had services of seven specialists. One thousand four hundred and thirty seven patients took advantage of this opportunity. The team of specialists and staff included Drs Shagufta Rather, Bharti Sarangal, Pallavi Sharma and Chunauti Pandita (Eye), Dr Ajaz Malik (ENT) from GMC, Dr Paramjeet Singh Azhar(Intern) and Khalil (NO) from IGGDC, Dr D K Sharma and Deepak (Phar) from DG, ISM, Dr Rama Prabhakar (Gynae) and Rajni Sumbria (GNM) from SVCH, Drs Anuradha Sharma and Balvinder Singh from BMO Dansal and Dr D P Sharma. Specialists during the camp attended to Eye-307, Physician-127, Gynae -198, Dental-180 (Filing-35,Scaling-20 and ZOE pack-10), ENT-105 , ISM- 278, Physiotherapy and acupressure -310. R K Nanda and V K Nanda, had a busy schedule with their expert services in physiotherapy and acupressure respectively. Sixty two cases of cataract were identified for operations which have been planned on 19th,23rd and 26th Feb at GMC&H. Free medicines as per the prescription of doctors were provided to all the patients and this part was very well managed by Ravi (Allopath) and Deepak Kumar/Dwarka Singh (ISM). |
