DC Kishtwar tours various villages, holds public grievance camps | | | Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Feb 15 : With a view to take stock of various problems being faced by the public and to assess the progress of developmental works in various panchayats, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Mohammad Javed Khan today toured the villages of Pohie, Cherhar, Pochhal, Hatta, Sarkoot and Matta. Deputy Commissioner inspected various roads including Wasser-Pohie Road, Huller-Hunjala Raod, Girinagar-Cherhar Road and Bun Astan- Pochhal Road. Public grievance redressal camps were also held at Pohie, Cherhar, Pochhal and Hatta. Sarpanches, Panches and people of these villages apprised the Deputy Commissioner about various problems being faced by them like bad condition of roads, nonpayment of compensation, drainage problem, shortage of drinking water and ration. Deputy Commissioner directed R&B and revenue authorities to jointly complete the compensation process. Progress of works being executed by Rural Development Department was also reviewed in each village and the concerned BDO was directed to consult GramSabha while finalising the plan. Regarding shortage of drinking water DC directed the PHE authorities to rationalize the water supply in all villages and remove all the illegal connections. PDD department was asked to regulate the power supply in the city and periphery, remove illegal connections and avoid un-scheduled power cuts. SP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas, ACR Sudershan Salaria, ASP Abdul Qayoom besides other district Officers also accompanied the Deputy Commissioner. AD CAPD was directed to disburse the pending ration within ten days. Khan also called for forming Social Audit Committees at village level comprising of Panchayat representatives and prominent citizens to monitor the progress of various developmental works. |
