Is deporting separatists to Pakistan a viable solution to silence pro-Pak forces in Kashmir?

Early Times Report

Jammu,Apr 25: Is deporting Kashmiri separatists to Pakistan the only viable solution for silencing those who raise pro-Pakistan slogans or wave Pakistani flags ?This question has assumed significance after the RSS dished out a sermon to the Government of India telling it to deport to Pakistan those separatists who raise pro-Pakistan slogans. "Those who are chanting pro-Pakistan slogans, especially the separatists along with their families, the government of India should not allow them to live on the soil of India, according to senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar.
"Indresh Kumar believes that once these separatists and their family members were deported to Pakistan it may result in peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir. The government of India should deport all Kashmiri separatist leaders to Pakistan seems to be the only way in the eyes of Indresh Kumar for promoting peace and political stability in Jammu and Kashmir. Is it possible for the Government of India to deport Kashmiri separatists to Pakistan when there is no extradition treaty between New Delhi and Islamabad ? In the absence of such an extradition treaty neither India can deport separatists to Pakistan nor is it mandatory for Islamabad to accept the deportation of Kashmiri separatists.
In the absence of extradition treaty between India and Pakistan does Indresh Kumar expect the Army to carry these separatists in trucks to the border point at Uri and push them across the zero line? Well this can be the only way open to the Government of India to implement ideas of Indresh Kumar.
Once these separatists are pushed across the zero line does Indresh Kumar expect the Pakistani Army to welcome them and embrace them before entertaining these separatists with mutton biryani in their sheds ? Certainly not.If Indresh Kumar nurses such an idea he may have to face angry crowds once these separatists are either pushed back into the Indian territory or eliminated by the Pakistani gunners thereby passing the onus of killing these separatists on the shoulders of the Indian Army.
Assuming that separatists are willing to cross into either Pakistan or Pakistan occupied territory will the official agencies besides people across the LOC and the IB ac0cept them willingly ?possibilities seem to be quite remote ?First of all these separatists may not dare to cross into Pakistan because of crisis of culture that the forefathers of Kashmiri separatists had experienced when they had crossed into occupied Kashmir and Pakistan in 1947-1949.Pakistan can,in no circumstances, accept these separatists,if they are pushed into the territory of Pakistan because once Kashmir is free from these separatists the Kashmir issue may no longer be an issue. In the absence of separatists in Kashmir Pakistan may lose an agency in the valley that has been keeping the Pakistani sentiments alive in Kashmir.
Majority of people in Kashmir will resist all attempts by the Government at deporting separatists to Pakistan.
People will oppose tooth and nail deportation of separatists to Pakistan because in the absence of these separatists Kashmiris may not be able to receive liberal financial help from the Government of India. And the separatists may be totally unwilling and unprepared to cross into occupied Kashmir because they know that they can enjoy freedom of speech, expression and movement only in India. Such a freedom, they believe, cannot be enjoyed once they cross into Pakistan.
Once in Pakistan they may not be allowed to have interaction with the Indian High Commissioner which could enable them to get space on page one of newspapers in Pakistan. These separatists know it and hence they are not going to oblige Indresh Kumar. If these separatists raise pro-Pakistan slogans or wave Pakistani flags during rallies they can do it only in India and that is the only reason they want to live in Kashmir which is part of the Indian territory.
Over the years they have enjoyed publicity to their speeches, statements.Over the years they have enjoyed importance of being heard by people.Over the years they have enjoyed being tolerated by the Government, whether in the state or in the centre.Hence why should they opt for Pakistan where their freedom of speech, expression and movement may be muzzled. The only way to silence them and make them irrelevant is to ignore them.Let the Government initiate measures for promoting economic welfare of people in the state through increase in job avenues and through major revolution in the sectors of industry and agriculture.
