Jammu, Apr 25 : Fast Track Court Presiding Officer Y P Kotwal today awarded six years of imprisonment in a kidnapping and molestation case. A fine of Rs 90,000 was also imposed on the accused.
According to the police case, on March 10, 2011, it was at about 6.30 pm when the victim (14) was coming back home from Pir Baba, Bakshi Nagar. However, when she reached Gurha Morh Auto Stand, accused Sunny Sharma forcibly made her to sit in his Scorpio vehicle with tinted glasses and and took his vehicle to a lonely street where he tried to commit rape on her and also beat her up and also clicked her naked photograps. On this, police registered a case and after completion of investigation presented challan.
Kotwal, after hearing the two sides, awarded three years of RI and a fine of Rs 40,000 under section 363 of RPC, one year RI and a fine Rs 20,000 under section 354 of RPC and two years of RI and a fine Rs 30,000 under section 325 of RPC to Sunny Sharma.
The court clarified that all the sentences shall run concurrently. It also said that the fine amount if realised be paid to the victim. (JNF) |
