Rajendra chairs security meeting

SRINAGAR, Apr 25: In order to review the security arrangements for re-opening of Civil Secretariat and other Darbar Move offices in summer capital of the State on 5th May 2015, a meeting of senior police officers was convened at PCR Kashmir here this afternoon. Chaired by the Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar, the meeting was also attended by Inspectors General of Police, SJM Geelani, A.G. Mir, Munir Ahmad Khan, JP Singh and IG CRPF K.S. Bhandari.
During the meeting, Rajendra sought reports from the attendees about the security and other arrangements related to the move of offices put in place for smooth re-opening of move offices in Srinagar.
The meeting discussed security, traffic and deployment of personnel by different wings of Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security forces with regard to Darbar Move. It was informed that all necessary steps have been taken to ensure the security of civil secretariat and other Darbar Move offices.
The DGP was informed that law and order situation is fully under control in the Valley and police and other security agencies have taken all measures to ensure that peaceful atmosphere prevails.
Addressing the meeting, the DGP stressed upon the officers to work in close coordination and make all required security arrangements to keep the law and order maintained, He also asked the officers to formulate a comprehensive traffic plan for Srinagar City to ensure better traffic management so that people are not put to any inconvenience during their day-to-day functioning due to security reasons. He issued some on spot orders for augmenting manpower of traffic police to facilitate hassle free movement of traffic in Srinagar city. He also stressed upon the officers to work with total professional commitment for peace and development of the State. He also reiterated the importance of people friendly policing and providing better professional service to people of the State.
Rajendra as well underlined the importance of coordination between various agencies of government to ensure that security grid is fully geared up for Darbar Move.
