Jammu, Apr 25: Earth Day was celebrated by the students of Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) here today with great panache. The aim of the event was to create mass awareness among youths towards fast depleting natural resources and uncontrolled ecological devastation caused by human greed and population explosion. Faculty members, staff and all the students of YCET participated in the competitive event. Er. Vidhi S. Singh, Chairman, JGEI & Er. Renu Bangroo, Managing Director, JGEI, were the members of the jury for the event. In a keenly contested competition, the first position was bagged by Azar Maqsood and Falak Mirza of 4th Semester, Civil Engineering Department, whereas the second and third positions were bagged by Udit Verma and Aditya Sharma of 4thSemester, Computer Engineering and Priyam Bhushan and Anirudh Mahajan of 4th Semester, Mechanical Engineering department respectively. The event, organized by SWAT Club, Department of Computer Engineering & IT, afforded an opportunity to the budding engineers to showcase their technical ingenuity and innovations in turning waste into something useful and substantial. Dr. Seema Narain, Director YCET, thanked the organizing club coordinator Er. Vipul Sharma and students for their efforts and displaying relentless passion to protect the bounties of nature by using superior technology. Er. Bodh Raj Verma, Dean Academics, Mr. R.S Dalpatia, Dy. Registrar, Mr A.K. Kaul, TPO and senior faculty members Er. Rhea Mahajan, Er. Loveneesh Talwar, Er. Rajnish Magotra, Er. Neeraj Pandita, Er. Dinesh Gupta, Dr. Preeti Verma were present on the occasion. Er. Vidhi S. Singh, Chairman, JGEI, Er. Renu Bangroo, Managing Director, JGEI, congratulated the winners and urged the young generation to come forward and work with missionary zeal to save mother nature from imminent ecological disaster. |
