CITU orgainses rally, demands increase in State's share for various schemes | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 1: Jammu and Kashmir state committee of CITU organised rally on the eve of May day, the symbol of International Solidarity and Unity of the working class of the State. The rally comprising of different affiliated unions and associations including Railway loading and Unloading Workers Unions, Asha Workers Union- Jammu, Anganwari Workers Union (J&K), Nirman Mazdoor Union, (Jammu), Jammu- National highway Workers Union, Industrial Estate Workers union in front of Press club Jammu. The workers held red flages, banners and placards in their hands and shouted slogans for the unity and integrity of the toiling masses of the world. Addressing the gathering, Om Parkash, general secretary, State CITU called upon the working class to prepare for struggle against anti-people and anti-national onslaught of the Corporate-servile BJP led government. He said that the BJP regime is a regime of all round attack on the labour rights of the workers and land right of the farmers; attack on wages and livelihood of the working people who create wealth for the nation and also attack on remunerative prices for the farmers who produces food for the people; attack on social security right in the form of doing away with the Employees Provident Fund Scheme and diverting a part of the fund for speculation in share market. |
