Early Times Report Jammu, May 23: Coordination Committee an amalgam of various organizations on issue of shifting of AIIMS to Srinagar which was earlier announced for Jammu in Central Budget, in a meeting held here today at High Court Complex elected its office bearers and also unanimously decided to observe Jammu Bandh on May 27, in support of the AIIMS Jammu. According to spokesperson of Coordination Committee, meeting was held at High Court Complex Jammu, under the chairmanship of Jammu Kashmir High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA) President Advocate Abhinav Sharma. During the meeting, the participating members unanimously decided that the President of the JKHCBA shall be the chairman of the "Coordination Committee" and the chief official spokesperson, the other two spokespersons shall be the President of Chamber of Commerce Rakesh Gupta and the General Secretary of JKHCBA, A P Singh. Having 71 constituents, some more members were added today which included Y V Sharma former President Chamber of Commerce, K B Jandial (Retd.) former IAS Officer, Vijay Gupta President Kanak Mandi Traders Association, Raj Kumar Babbar State President Swarn Kar Sangh, Ashu Gupta Chairman, Apsra Road Traders Assocaition, S Amrik Singh President Tourism Federation of Jammu, Vijender Khajuria Chairman J&K Panchayat Rural and Urban Council, Davinder Choudhary President Taxi Union, Kulbhushan Anand City President of Swarn Kar Sangh. Meeting unanimously decided to give ten (10) days ultimatum to the Central Government and the elected representatives from Jammu Province for establishment of AIIMS at Jammu and unanimously called upon all the 26 elected representatives from Jammu Province who are in government formation to make a public statement within a period of Ten (10) days as to whether they are with the people from Jammu province for the establishment of AIIMS at Jammu or not? In the meeting, it was also unanimously decided to call for Jammu Bandh on May 27i.e. on Wednesday on the visit of Union Minister of Home Affairs Rajnath Singh as a matter of protest and to convey the resentment of people from Jammu Province in this regard. In the meeting issues pertaining to various other organizations like the Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Traders and Transporters were also threadbare discussed. (JNF) |
