Early Times Report

Jammu, May 29: The students of Apex Paramedical Institute Doda and Asraria Para Medical and
Research Institute Kishtwar today censured inquiry officer Dr. Bhatia HOD Pathology department of Government Medical College for delay in conducting the inquiry against the illegally running paramedical institutes who not only were robbing the innocent poor, but also playing with the careers of the students in Doda and Kishtwar .
While talking to "Early Times", many students who had taken admission in Apex Paramedical Institute Doda and Asraria Para Medical and Research Institute Kishtwar said it is shocking that inquiry officer Dr. Bhatia who is not only conducting inquiry against these two institutes, but is also responsible for overall monitoring of functioning of Paramedical Institutes in Jammu region has issued roll number slips to the students enrolled in these illegally run Paramedical students for examination held on 22nd and 26th of May 2015.
"It is matter of great concern that Dr. Bhatia allowed roll number slips to be issued to students of Apex Paramedical institute despite the fact that he (Dr. Bhatia) knows that both the institutions are without NOC and are running illegally- government as well as Principal GMC must seek the answer from him" said angry victim, adding that despite repeated attempt, Dr. Bhatia is not responding the calls of the aggrieved victims. The claim of victim was found genuine as Dr. Bhatia even did not responded to repeated calls of "Early Times" since yesterday evening.
When contacted, Dr. Kulbushan Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Doda said that he had no knowledge about the illegal functioning of Apex Paramedical Institute Doda and added that matter came to his notice only after Deputy Commissioner Doda constituted three member committee headed by him and Tehsildar Doda and SHO Doda as its members. He said that on the direction of DC Doda, the three member team headed by him visited the Apex Paramedical Institute and sought relevant documents from the management of the institution who failed to submit the same. He said that the committee set the deadline of July 2, 2015 for the management of the Apex Paramedical Institute Doda to submit the relevant documents with regard to the functioning of the institute and further added that in case they failed to submit, the committee will submit its report to DC Doda for further necessary action.
Meanwhile, the owner of the Apex Paramedical Institute Doda today decamped with the bundles of "Early Times" after paying the newspaper vendor at Doda so as to prevent the news from further circulation.
The students of Asraria Para Medical and Research Institute Kishtwar informed the "Early Times" that the owner of the institute today tried to downplay the news published in today's edition of "Early Times", adding that on asking him to provide the copy of the permission, the owner denied the same to them.
"He (owner) is even not ready to issue identity card to them--- it shows that something is fishy--- we are trying to approach police and DC over the issue so as to ascertain the truth that whether the institute is running legally or not" said a student wishing anonymity. It is pertinent to mention that Apex Para medical institute in Doda and Asrariya Para Medical and Research Institute Kishtwar have not only put the careers of the innocent students at stake, but they also failed to deposit an amount of approximately 44 lacs towards Hospital Development Fund to District Hospital Doda which is necessary for the paramedical institutions under law to deposit clinic training fee @Rs5000/student.
