Early Times Report
Jammu, June 6: Callous attitude of BJP leadership was reflected on Friday as none of the party minister was present at Jammu when city was on fire due to protest by groups of Sikhs.
Instead of playing the role as elected representatives of the people, BJP ministers skirted their responsibilities and gave all authorities to the administration to hold talks with the representatives of the Sikh organisations.
Credible sources said that none of the BJP minister or elected representative of the party was ready to participate in the talks because they lack vision and conviction to reach at an agreement with the agitating groups. "Some senior officers asked some BJP ministers to approach representatives of Sikh organisations for dialogue to break the dead-lock but none of the Minister could exhibit conviction to solve the crisis", sources said and added the all the ministers shifted responsibility on each other for dialogue.
Not only BJP ministers have failed to play the role as representatives of the people, elected MLAs and MLCs of the party had also hide themselves at unknown locations for two days to avoid queries of common masses. When tension was at its peak in some parts of Jammu city due to sporadic attacks by some motor-cycles born youth on Friday, BJP MLAs and other leaders were mysteriously absent. Some of them were enjoying pleasant weather of Kashmir Valley along with blue-eyed boys, many others were enjoying picnic at different locations due to bandh in the city.
Credible sources said that after reaching of agreement between administration and Sikh organisations, now BJP leaders are starting raising questions over the agreement. Some leaders said that instead of taking action against those who have raised anti-national slogans, the administration has succumbed before such elements.
Sources said some BJP ministers had announced to reach Jammu on Friday evening but due to prevailing tension in the city they decided to extend their stay at Srinagar to enjoy pleasant weather there.
