Avinash Azad Early Times Report
Jammu, June 18: Following Omar Abdullah's foot step, the present regime of state is also hoodwinking the public, as instead of widening much needed Kalakot-Siot, the state government is mulling to premix (repair) the stretch, costing nearly one crore. Well placed sources told Early Times owing non-sanction of widening of Kalakot-Siot road, the PWD, R&B department would premix the stretch shortly. "Funds for the work are likely to be released in District Development Board (Rajouri) meeting scheduled on June 24", sources said, adding that immediately after release of funds the work would begin. They further said that as widening project is being delayed, the government is releasing money for repairing of the same. "Inspite of exploring option like repairing, the Government should sanction the project, it may, even not call as short term measure", they said. "There are no reasons for adopting such practices by state as well as centre government, as people had voted for BJP, for their development", they said. Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement during assembly election rally at Rajouri, they said the former and local MLA had made number of promises, which were to be fulfilled "if BJP comes in power", but now they are following footsteps of Omar Abdullah in case of Kalakot's development. "It is all politics, It seems, that present government is also not willing to fulfill the promises, they have made. Why widening of the road is pending? Why the project is not being sanctioned? Three agencies, so far, PMGSY, PWD, R&B and Border Road Organization have conducted survey for the road project", they asked state government, especially local MLA Er Abdul Ghani Kohli, who is also minister for Transport. When contacted , Minister for Transport, Er Abdul Ghani Kohli acknowledged that repairing work would start soon. "As project of widening of the project is pending, government has planned to get the road repaired for the time being", he said. |
