Jammu, July 22: Sher-I-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur organized three day training programme on "Juvenile/Child welfare, officers". According to press release, the course was inaugurated by Dr. Vikram Gulati, Principal Shivalik College, Udhampur, and the resource persons included Romesh Kumar, Lecturer Deptt of Psychology, Jammu University, Asstt. Prof. Savita Nayar, Law Dept. JU, Baldev Singh Manhas, Director Prosecution (Retd.), Mohd. Sharief, Chief Coordinator Save the Children (NGO). The topics deliberated upon during three day course were An overview of Human Trafficking in India with special reference to Juveniles, Missing children and child labour, immoral trafficking act, NHRC Guidelines with regard to missing children, Victim protection protocol in India, missing children and child trafficking-role of NGOs, Child Rights-National and state overviews, role of police in rehabilitation of missing children. The three day course was validated by Amit Kumar Sub-Judge Ramnagar. He stressed upon participants to develop empathy, for the missing children and laid emphasis for setting up friendly police force. |
