'BJP told to adopt diversionary tactics on AIIMS demand'

Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 22: The BJP central leadership has reportedly directed the state unit to adopt diversionary tactics till any decision on setting up AIIMS in Jammu is formally taken.
The central leadership has asked for creating divisions within the groups who are protesting for the same. It has also told the state unit that it may not be able to announce AIIMS as it is not only trying to fight out the contentious issues in the Parliament but the proposal has not even been discussed in the cabinet, which is mandatory for it.
"The central leadership has not even discussed the issues in details as it's busy with many important issues including Parliament session and also the coming Bihar elections, which are more important than the AIIMS for Jammu. And, second the decision will be taken only after consultation and approval of the PDP," said a senior BJP leader in the central leadership.
The sources said that BJP has been directed to create confusion, give assurances, adopt diversionary tactics, and if needed create a division.
"The divergent stand between AIIMS Coordination Committee and the Chamber of CCI is the first reflection of this ploy by the BJP. The Chamber office bearers are pressing for many other things in the guise of the AIIMS. These are local issues which can be sorted out by the local BJP which is in power," said the senior leader.
"If the people in Kashmir can wait for the flood package for about a year, then why do the people of Jammu think they can get AIIMS in just two months? What is the urgency, and what makes them think that of all the things, only this will be done on priority basis," said the leader.
