Reasi, July 22: The 'We Care' NGO organized anti polythene campaign in collaboration with Municipal committee and District administration here today. According to press release, The campaign was kicked off from Bus Stand Market in the presence of District pollution office Hans Raj Singh Goloch, Naib Tehsidar, Suraj Singh, MC employees, Chairman of We Care NGO Jugal Magotra. The officials and NGO members interacted with the shopkeepers, makeshift stall owners and passersby over the pollution issue. They explained the harmful effects of polythene like environment degradation to people. During the campaign District pollution office Hans Raj Singh Goloch said that if anybody will use polythene after, 25 July, he will be charged heavy fine. Jugal Magotra, NGO president said that they have been appealing to locals not to use polythene bags. "If use of plastic is avoided, a major pollution problem could be reduced to a great extent", he said. |
