WEF urges govt, society to collectively counter crime against women 7/22/2015 11:19:28 PM Jammu, July22: Women Empowerment Forum (WEF) has expressed concern over the rise in the incidents of crime against women across the nation and urged the people and the government to wake up to collectively counter this menace. Addressing a press conference, President of the forum Dr Anuradha Goswami said, "Recent incident that happened in national capital wherein an innocent 19 year old Meenakshi was brutally stabbed to death by two youth in full public view has exposed all the myths surrounding tall claims of government on women empowerment and their security." She said it was a matter of great shame for all of us that a young girl was killed in front of so many people but no one dared to come forward and save the girl from being killed and even the police remained elusive throughout.
