BJP bartered Jammu for power: ACC
7/22/2015 11:53:14 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, July 22: Chairman of the AIIMS Coordination Committee (ACC) and president of Jammu Kashmir High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA), Jammu, Abhinav Sharma today pooh-poohed the claim of the local BJP leadership that the BJP respects the mandate of the people of Jammu and the BJP top brass, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have strong feelings for Jammu and Ladakh.
He also took pot shot at its statement that the BJP is in power because of Jammu people and questioned his claim that the BJP joined hands with the PDP to end regional discrimination.
Addressing a large gathering of enraged civil society members on the second day of chain hunger strike on the issue of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Abhinav Sharma said that the plight of the people of Jammu region was never so miserable as it has been since March 1, when the BJP subverted the Jammu mandate and joined hands with the pro-self-rule and patently pro-Valley PDP for petty political power. It bartered Jammu region to fulfil its lust for power. It didn't leave anything for the people of Jammu region in the agenda of alliance. So much so, it insulted, abused and ridiculed the liberal and all-accommodating concepts of Dogriyat and Ladakhiyat by not giving them any space whatever in the agenda of alliance. The BJP only recognized Kashmiriyat which has converted Kashmir Valley into one-community region, Sharma said.
Dismissing as another dubious cunning attempt on the part of the BJP to divert the people attention away from the real issue, Sharma asserted that the BJP has fallen from grace and there is none in the state who believes in it or gives any credence to what it says. Those who sat on chain hunger strike today included Jammu Adhikar Manch chairman Raj Kumar, its vice-president Inder Pal Singh, secretary Swarn Singh and members Devinder Singh Sonu, Raj Kumar, Kanchan Bhat, Deepak Sharma, Bhupinder Lal Salgotra, Rattan Lal Pappu, Kashi Ram, advocate Brij Mohan and Sanjay Jandyal.
Among others who addressed the gathering included retd Sessions Judge and president JPPF Pavitar Singh, President Amar Kashtriya Rajput Sabha, Narayan Singh, president All J&K Oil Tankers and Pump Owners Association, Anan Sharma, president AJHALA, Inderjeet Khajuria and others.
