Bhaderwah, July 22: After a gap of about over three decades since the making of blockbuster Hindi feature film Noorie, a Bollywood crew once again turned to picturesque town Bhaderwah which is also known as Chota Kashmir- (mini Kashmir)
Surrounded by lush green meadows, snow clad mountains and covered with dense vegetation, the beautiful Bhaderwah valley is the latest destination for Bollywood and the picturesque little valley once again became lively with cameras rolling.
If recalled here that threat of militancy was a deterrent when Director Mukesh Mishra shooting for his film 'Love Jehad' in 1980 under the banner of Y M Productions and Kings Entertainment Mumbai in the beautiful valley of Bhaderwah with star cast Sarfraz Ahmed, Keshav Arora and Arjuman Moghal, Debolina Bishwash and in negative role Nigel Akkara, the violence seems to be a thing of the past. "Tourists like Kashmir valley a lot, but when they hear about Bhaderwah the mini Kashmir they get very curious and when they come here they really get impatient to see it," said Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bhaderwah Development Authority Angraz Singh Rana.
"Film shooting in Bhaderwah and its surrounding almost came to a halt with emergence of militancy in the region, and now the people are optimistic about Bollywood would soon return to their small valley, claimed AEE BDA Fayaz Ahmed Metha.
Mehta said, "We had a very wonderful season such a lively time. So far It is the peaceful summer which witnessed enthusiastic response from tourists and has encouraged more and people to come to Bhaderwah this year. And, we are expecting more, more and more tourists to come in December this year."
Meanwhile the Bollywood crew which has landed in Bhaderwah and is shooting a Hindi film at Bhaderwah today while talking to media persons at the location said that they are here for shooting in Bhaderwah for the title -Love Jehad. "The shooting will attract more people to this place, the crew members hoped and added that more film makers will return to the Bhaderwah Valley that has unparalleled beauty and was neglected for past over two decades. Here it needs to mention that Jammu and Kashmir State shares a special bond with Indian Cinema especially Bollywood right from the early years of its existence and even the chronicles of Bollywood industry will be incomplete if it doesn't mention the name of the State. And this is largely due to the fact that many movies have been shot in the breathtaking beauty of the State-whether it is Ladakh, Bhaderwah or Kashmir, though Kashmir surfaces at the top slot and virtually captivated not only the hearts of Bollywood, but also lured poets and painters as well. As the insurgency ebbed down, the film industry again got spirited and started shooting once again in Bhaderwah like other parts of state which is a positive sign for the development of socio-economic status of people in the region. After the shooting of Noori movie which was shoot in 1979 in Bhaderwah once again the flash lights and camera shutters turned to Bhaderwah from Mumbai.
"It's like picturesque place on earth," said Debolina Bishwash actress of the film Love Jehad and said the co stars and crew members use to enjoy shooting in Bhaderwah."
According to Director of the film Mukesh Mishra almost 50% of the shooting will held at Bhaderwah and remaining will be shot in other parts of the country. He however expressing gratitude to the authorities appreciated the local administration which included Police department and Bhaderwah Development Authority for providing them congenial atmosphere and security at Bhaderwah.
If recalled here in 80's famous film Noori of Farooq Sheikh and Poonam Dhiloon shot at Bhaderwah has turned the blockbuster of yesteryears till today for leaving the audiences spell bound due to picturesque valley Bhaderwah covering Jai valley, Chattergalla, Snow point , Snowhai , Padri ,Khellani , Kailash and others.
