Out of 24 Ministers, only five PDP Ministers attend Council on last day | BJP Ministers conspicuous by their absence from Council | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Oct 12: Much to the disappointment of many Members of Legislative Council and the non serious approach of Bhartiya Janta Party Ministers towards issues of public importance raised by the legislators in Assembly as well as Council, all the BJP Ministers along with many other PDP Ministers remained absent from Council proceedings today. As soon as the proceedings of the Legislative Council started today, only five PDP Ministers namely Minister for Horticulture, Hajj & Auqaf Abdul Rehman Veeri, Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs, Relief and Rehabilitation Basharat Hussain Bukhari, Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, Minister of State for Power, H&UDD Mohammad Ashraf Mir and Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Abdul Majid Padder attended the Council proceedings wherein the members discussed key issues of public concern. Later at the end of day's proceedings, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed reached the Council and replied to the debate on Panchayati Raj Institution and elections to local bodies before the Chairman adjourned the Council sine-die. Meanwhile majority of the BJP MLAs and Minister left Srinagar soon after Legislative Assembly session concluded on Saturday and many BJP Ministers were also found missing from their offices at civil Secretariat disappointing many visitors. |
