EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 18: The State of Jammu and Kashmir has also contributed significantly to constitute the foundations of the great Indian civilization, through the writings of Kalhana, Bilhana, Anandvardhan, etc. Keeping all this in view, to examine the views expressed earlier, and to find solutions for various contemporary issues, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan (Deemed to be University), the National Nodal Agency for Implementation of Sanskrit Policies of Government of India, is organizing a national seminar on "Concepts of Ethics in Vedic literature in the Contemporary Context," at its Shri Ranbir Campus, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu, on 19th and 20th November, 2015. In the Inaugural Session, to be held on November 19, 2015, Dr. Nirmal Singh, Deputv Chief Minister, J&K State, will be the Chief Guest, whereas Prof. Yugal Kishore Mishra, Head of the Department of Veda, Sampurnanand University, Varanasi will be the Special Guest. The Keynote Address will be delivered by Prof. Dayanand Bhargava, Chairman, Vedavijnanapeetham, Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Rajasthan Sanskrit University, Jaipur. Prof. Parameshwara Narayana Shastry, Vice Chancellor, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi, will preside over the Inaugural session. In the Valedictory Session, Prof. R. D. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Jammu University, will be the Chief Guest. Prof. Om Prakash Pandey, former Head of the Department of Sanskrit, University of Lucknow (UP), and Prof. Rajeshwar Prasad Mishra, Department of Sanskrit, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh (UP) will be the Guest of Honour and Special Guest, respectively. The Valedictory Function will be presided over by Prof. Ramanuja Devanathan, Principal, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Shri Ranbir Campus, Jammu. In the two-day National Seminar, about 100 reputed scholars from New Delhi, Jaipur, Varanasi, Lucknow, Aligarh, Puri (Odisha), Una (HP), Srinagar, Darbhanga (Bihar), Garli (HP), Tirupati (AP), etc, are expected to present papers, and hold discussions on topics, such as, 'Ways for Re-establishing Vedic Ethics,' 'Vedic Ethics and Their Effect on Human Life,' 'Bringing in Quality in Teaching and Learning, and Vedic Ethics', ' Global Peace and Vedic Ethics', ' Vedic Ethics and Global Welfare and Environment', 'Relevance of Spiritual Values in Human Life', 'Ethics and Ashrama Dharma', 'Human Values in Vedas', and many more. |
