JAMMU, Nov 18: State sub-junior boys and girls teams today left for participation in the
38th Sub-Junior National Volleyball Championship to be held at Narasapoor, Medak in Telangana from November 22 to November 27.
Prior to proceeding for nationals, the teams underwent a 16 days coaching camp held MA Stadium, here under the guidance of State Sports Council coaches. The team had an interaction with president of Volleyball Association of J&K, Sidharth Daluja and general secretary, Vijay Kumar. Subash Shastri, Pankaj Saini and Ram Lal are accompanying the teams as coaches and manager.
Besides the Screening Committee members, Rashid Ahmed and Arjun Choudhary, Joint Secretary of State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sports Officer, Ravi Singh were present.
Meanwhile, as per a handout issued here today, J&K boys have been placed in Pool-A and shall play against Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Manipur and Bihar in the league round. Similarly, State girls, placed in Pool-B, shall compete against West Bangal, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Goa and Pondicherry.

Boys: Sahil Sharma, Vishal Sharma, Sahil Sharma, Ashish Sharma (all from Kathua), Imtaz Javid, Azhar Mahmood (both Poonch), Vikas Choudhary of Pindi Bishnah, Sunny Gill, Sagar, Sahil Sharma (all from Samba) and Sourav Singh of Pallanwala.
Girls: Disha Pathania of Jammu District, Barsha Manhas of Jammu District, Meena Devi , Rubia Akhtar, Akanksha Charak, Riddhima Sharma Janvi, Renuka (all from Samba), Chahat Rajrah of Pindi Bishnah, Anjali Chib, Kajal Chib, Manu and Meenakshi (all from Akhnoor). |
