jammu, Nov 18: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal today convened a meeting of officers to review the arrangements for celebrations of Birth Anniversary (Parkash Utsav) of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on November 25.
The meeting was attended by IGP Jammu Danesh Rana, SSP Jammu Uttam Chand, SSP Traffic Mohan Lal, Additional Commissioner Rehana Batool, Deputy Commissioner Simrandeep Singh, Joint Commissioner JMC R. S. Jamwal, SEs, XEns, besides President District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu (DGPC) Jagjit Singh, Secretary Harjinder Singh, Vice President Kuldeep Singh, Ex-Secy Manjit Singh, GM Tejinder Singh.
The meeting was informed that the main function would be held at Gurudwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Chand Nagar Jammu on November 25th, 2015where thousands of devotees would perform prayers and attend Akhand Path followed by Shabad Kirtan and langer.
Procession (Nagar Kirtan) will be held on November 23, 2015 which shall start from Vivakananad Chowk and after passing through different bazaars will culminate at main Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Nanak Nagar Jammu.
Divisional Commissioner asked the Municipal authorities to ensure cleanliness in and around the venue and Nagar Kirtan route besides arrange sufficient number of dustbins and water tankers. He asked the PHE department to ensure uninterrupted water supply with additional water tanker at the venue along with installation of temporary water taps. Power Development Department was asked to provide uninterrupted power supply throughout the day.
Traffic department was asked to ensure requisite arrangements for smooth and hassle free traffic movement and identify parking slots for parking of vehicles.
Divisional Commissioner also asked the Police authorities to ensure adequate security arrangements.
Health department was directed to provide fully equipped ambulance with first aid stationed at the venue. The Divisional Commissioner asked all departments to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place.
