Global cooperation against terror V/S ceasefire violations by Pak troops
11/19/2015 12:32:40 AM
Pakistan, especially its troops, do not
learn any lesson from experience, from
day to day events. Instead its forces continue to adopt the same hackneyed stance while trying to trigger conflict on the LOC and on the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir. During the last one year Pakistani troops, deployed on the LOC, and the Rangers, guarding the IB, have resorted to series of ceasefire violations. At one stage the Pakistani forces would indulge in as many as 45 to 50 ceasefire violations per month. And the intensity of these ceasefire violations was reduced after the Indian troops and the BSF retaliated with force and fury. In fact the level of retaliation was so heavy from the Indian side that Pakistani troops were either forced to keep the mouth of their guns shut or started launching a campaign against India holding New Delhi responsible for repeated ceasefire violations. However, luckily no developed nation was ready to buy the Pakistan's version on the border conflict because these developed nations had, by now, realized and experienced the impact of safe haven for terrorists of various sorts in Pakistan on the security of India and its neighbouring countries.
And after a long pause Pakistani Rangers, unmindful of the terrorist strike in Paris in which about 130 people were killed and over 200 injured, resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violations by targeting some BSF border outposts in Samba sector and its immediate adjoining areas. Reports from the border revealed that the Indian and Pakistani troops once again exchanged fire along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district, on Tuesday. According to these reports, Pakistan Rangers resorted to "unprovoked" firing at Border Security Force (BSF) positions in Samba district of Jammu region. Pakistan Rangers started firing in Chalari and Ghugwal areas of the border in Samba district during early hours of Tuesday morning. targeting nine BSF border outposts. As per reports Rangers used small arms and automatics to target the positions. The firing was effectively retaliated using same calibre weapons by the BSF jawans. Effective retaliation forced the Pakistani guns to fall silent. If not anything else, these repeated ceasefire violations continue to making living of the border villagers quite difficult. Though groups of people have migrfated to safer places during the last one year but there are villagers who have been forced to stay put because of their farming practices.
It seems that the Pakistani forces have not examined properly the ramifications of the bombings on the ISIS headquarters in Syria. During the last two days the ISIS headquarters have witnessed much damage after ammunition depot, arms training camps and other locations were hit hard.Scores of ISIS activists are reported to have been killed though the ISIS is silent about it. Even after facing these severe bombings the ISIS has vowed to counter these attacks with venom and bigger damage to the US,Russia and France. In fact France is trying to promote global response to the threat from ISIS and in this connection the French President, Francois Hollande, had talked to,on phone, the US President,Barack Obama and the Russian President,Vladimir Putin. The French President sought cooperation from Obama and Putin for strengthening global war against ISIS. The ISIS has become a new and major threat to peace and stability in Europe, America, the UK and even to India. Islamabad may try to escape from the menace of ISIS but it cannot because Pakistan could not escape from the Al Qaeda and the Taliban attacks. This way if Pakistan is no longer invulnerable to the menace of ISIS why should it perpetuate conflict on the LOC and the IB? This is a million dollar question which Islamabad alone can answer. Possibly Islamabad believes that by targeting the Indian border outposts with gun and mortar fire Pakistan could remain safe from the ISIS fury. If it thinks so it is wrong because ISIS is trying to capture the political sphere and economy of as many nations as is possible. If France is seeking cooperation from US and Russia for hitting hard the ISIS why should not Pakistan seek cooperation from India for all counter insurgency and counter terror operations? The choice is with Islamabad. If it joins the other countries engaged in ware against terror Pakistan can be saved. If it does not it may get perished because of the activities of the Taliban and now of the ISIS.
