JAMMU, Nov 18: The activists of National Secular Forum (NSF) Wednesday held a strong demonstration in Jammu University here to lodge protest against the bungling being done by the Varsity administration and subsequent hush up of the matter by the higher ups.
The activists led by NSF General Secretary Narinder Singh raised slogans against the Vice Chancellor holding him responsible for all sort of corruption and mess. "An Examination Superintendent (Dr Hina Abrol) tampered with the attendance report of the supervisory staff to accommodate a blue-eyed for payment on account of unperformed duty.
The matter is on the record and brought to the notice of higher-ups but no action has been taken so far against the person who duped the Varsity."
An RTI reply divulged that the payment made by the Superintendent to those who performed examination duty did not match the attendance report sent to the Examination Section JU, he added saying that it was the height of non-seriousness of Vice Chancellor towards the corrupt practices and proves that he himself follow such practices.
"Had a proper probe been initiated by the JU to unearth the whole gamut of scam going on in manipulating the official record and to provide financial benefits to blue-eyed, it would have served as a deterrent for others," he said.
He further said that there were many such instances in the Varsity where corrupt elements had been shielded by the Vice Chancellor just because he himself indulges in such practices.
