Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 18: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organized Multi-lingual Mahila Kahani Goshthi at K.L Saigal Hall. Prof. Nirija Mattoo, Former Senior fellow, Ministry of Culture, HRD, Government of India, prominent social worker and intellectual was the Chief Guest while Prof. Rita Jitendra, eminent writer, actor, social activist and former Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art,Culture and Languages presided. Dr. Aziz Hajini, Secretary and Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary were also present in the presidium. While delivering her presidential address, Prof. Rita Jitendra thanked Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for arranging Multi-lingual Mahila Kahani Goshthi. She also hailed the contribution of women short-story writers who presented their short-stories and said that there is a lot of work to be done for the promotion and protection of women rights. Prof. Nirija Mattoo, while speaking on the occasion said that she was privileged to hear the short stories presented in the said function in Dogri, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu which were highly appreciable and succeeded in reflecting the problems being faced by the women folk of the present era. She expressed her concern that even in the present time of global change and achievements in every field of life the situation of women not changed yet. |
