NCP flays PM for silence over Pak firing

JAMMU, Nov 18: Jammu and Kashmir state NCP questioned the silence of Prime Minister Narendera Modi, Defence minister and Home minister, on the martyrdom of an Indian Army Colonel Santosh Mahadik who laid down his life while fighting militant in the area of North Kashmir, Kupwara forests.
Randhir Singh condemned the ceasefire violations by the Pakistan rangers in the village Chilayari area of Samba sector in his home District Kathua in attempt to infiltrate terrorists to Jammu area particularly in Tehsil Hiranagar which is a perennial routes of infiltration. While condemning the killing of Colonel Santosh Mahadik, Singh stated that it is a matter of shame "that neigbouring nations are offering both talks and guns". What a sad state of affairs that some of the Former Congress ministers while on the soil of Pakistan saying let us promote friendly ties but at the same time Pakistan terrorists killed Colonel Santosh Mahadik a son of a milkman from Maharashtra a product of Sainik School, Satara, Maharashtra who left behind his wife , two children is a great loss to the nation, Indian Army and the family of the Late Colonel Santosh Mahadik .
Singh demanded that Jammu Sainik School, Nagrota be named in memory of brave Colonel Santosh Mahadik and to be awarded with highest award of the nation. Singh who comes from well known Army family whose four generations have served the Army and his great grandfather General Tehal Singh was martyred while fighting with the British forces at Budki , Lahore in the Army of Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Punjab said there have been over 250 ceasefire violations along the Indo-Pak border this year besides civilian killings and dislocations of border people from Kathua to Poonch to Kupwara to Leh.
