Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 22: The Vice Chancellor of Jammu University had some embarrassing moments today when a junior complained of harassment by his senior. The embarrassed VC was forced to intervene to restore order.
According to the sources in Jammu University, a high voltage drama was witnessed in the Vice-Chancellor's secretariat when this top officer allegedly humiliated his junior colleague for not paying him attention.
Even as the junior officer tried to explain that he was busy in work and thus could not notice presence of his senior, the latter did not listen to the excuse and kept on rebuking the former, sources added.
As the top officer refused to accept apology of his junior, the latter also lost temper and retaliated with serious allegations against the former, who is a Professor and has been occupying top administrative position in the University as additional charge.
The junior officer not only retaliated verbally but even went to the office chamber of Vice-Chancellor and straightway told Prof R D Sharma that he was going to approach the National Minority Commission against alleged humiliation meted out to him by his boss, sources informed.
As the entire episode of verbal dual took place in presence of several officers and Professors, the Vice-Chancellor inquired about the incident and came to know about the fault of the top officer, who was summoned and directed to seek apology from his junior.
The Vice-Chancellor's snub realized the top officer his mistake, who rushed to the junior and repeatedly apologized for his misbehavior. The top officer even went to the extent of claiming that he had lost his mental balance because of old age and numerous illnesses and therefore the junior should pardon him.
The incident, particularly stooping so low by the top officer, is talk of the university amidst speculations that the Vice-Chancellor may shift this man from the top position.
