PMs package encompasses adequate rehabilitation component for KPs: Mattoo
Advisor to CM visits Jagti Migrant Township

JAMMU, Nov 22: Advisor to Chief Minister, Prof Amitabh Mattoo today visited the Kashmiri Migrant Camp, Jagti Township and took stock of problems being faced by them.
He was accorded a rousing reception by the inmates of the township on his arrival. Later, he was felicitated by community leaders at a function attended by several hundred residents.
Prof Mattoo said the coalition government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is committed to resolve all issues that impinge on the day-to-day living of the residents, and ensuring their early and dignified rehabilitation.
Prof Mattoo stressed upon the migrant community to be united for early redress of their genuine problems. The Advisor said the Kashmiri Pandits are an intrinsic part of the valley and necessary mechanism has already been put in place to ensure that they are rehabilitated in a proper and dignified manner. There is no greater visionary than the present Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in this regard and the Prime Minister has also announced a comprehensive package encompassing their relief and rehabilitation.
President, Jagti Migrants Welfare Committee, Pintoo Pandita highlighted the demands of the locals including economic rehabilitation of Kashmir Padits, special recruitment derive for KPs in Police, implementation of social welfare schemes, proper implementation of PM's package, releasing of pending ex-gratia and compensation of left-over property, upgradation of migrant camp schools, framing of KP development council besides declaring Jagti as notified areas, providing proper health facilities to Jagti area, setting up of ITI and degree College at Jagti and several other demands.
The Advisor assured them that all their genuine problems would be redressed in time bound manner by taking up them with the concerned authorities and departments.
Prof. Mattoo further assured them that the health centre would start functioning within the shortest possible time and medical Ambulance would also provide to it.
Member Legislative Council, Surinder Ambardar also assured them of redressal on their projected demands as early as possible.
Relief Commissioner, R K Pandita, Ex Commissioner, JMC, Kiran Wattal, Vice Chncellor, Central University, Ashok Aima, Director, Social Welfare, Veerji Hangloo, Director, Health Services, Jammu, B S Pathania, HoD, Urdu Department, JU, Dr. Shoaib Inayat Malik, President, All India Kashmir Samaj, Vijay Aima, concerned officers and residents of Jagti Township were also present on the occasion.
