Early Times Report Jammu, Nov. 28: Enrichment Program on teaching English to Classes VI - VIII was organized by the Delhi Public School Society, Council of Education Management Human Resource Development Centre, New Delhi at DPS Jammu. The session started with a film on Assessment by Council of Education Management, Human Resource Development Centre. The film was an address by Dinesh Singh, Vice Chancellor of Delhi University where he focused on the objectives of assessment by enabling children to progress in life while connecting teaching and learning in order to assess students. He talked in detail about not being judgmental and assess students without comparing. In the feedback session, Vinita Kher, Prog. Director, Director Council of Education Management, Incharge MHRD, DPS Society, New Delhi, urged teachers to focus on why, what and who to assess during the process of teaching & learning. After feedback session, three sessions were held on the topics 'Assessment of Listening and Speaking skills' and "Developing Writing Skills and "Using Multiple Intelligence in english language teaching and learning which were addressed by Homi Astavans Education Consultant and Dr. Kiriti Kapur, Associate prof. NCERT respectively. These sessions enriched teachers about enhancing practical english language skills, apart from simple reading and writing. The programme concluded with a session on 'Theatre as an Effective Learning Tool in ELT'. The resource person for this session was Saloni Mahajan, Resource Associate for Newspaper in Education, Times of India Delhi Public School Jammu also arranged a Musical Night - 'Sur Sangam', for all the guests and delegates at Hari Niwas Palace to rejuvenate their senses and sensibilities. All the delegates were delighted to be a part of the Enrichment Programme. |
