| JFI terms BJP-PDP govt as Hurriyat's 'puppet' | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, May 22: In a seminar organised by Jammu for India (JFI) "Stand Up Or Perish", all the speakers were unanimous in their view that there was an impending danger of betrayal of nationalists by the governments of J&K and New Delhi.
Speakers identified the present BJP-PDP government as a government of the Hurriyat, by the Hurriyat and for the Hurriyat. They resolved not to allow Jammu to become just a door mat for those who want to compromise with separatists in Kashmir. The speakers urged the people of Jammu to be ready for a mass revolt against any compromise with separatists and Pakistan.
Ex-DGP M M Khajuria, in his key note address, said, "For decades, the people of Jammu have been fooled in the name of national interest, denied their due share in services, infra structure development, due representation in legislatures through series of conspiracies. The list can be stretched ad-nausim. But there is no time to waste, I say it is time to cry "Enough is enough", and stand up to be counted. As Swami Vevekanand exhorted "ARISE AND STOP NOT TILL THE GOAL IS ACHIEVED".
"Are we ready to launch the campaign for restoring the self respect of our people and securing our legitimate rights from here and now? If so, say so loud and clear for the entire world to hear and take notice that Jammu has awoken," he added.
"In my first contact with Padgaonkar-led interlocators' group, I made following points at the very outset. First, stop using Jammu as a doormat to clean your shoes to enter the drawing room of Kashmir. We shall not tolerate this. Two, we the people of Jammu will henceforth determine what is in the national interest and act accordingly. Three, Delhi has no power of attorney from us to speak on our behalf, we are capable of speaking for ourselves. I demand from this august audience to affix their seal of approval on this fundamental positioning on the part of Jammu region- an administrative and political entity haloed by history of one hundred and sixty nine years- Home to followers of various faiths, castes creeds and tribes living in peace and harmony," Khajuria said and warned about the deteriorating security environment and said,"You are aware of the security environment in Kashmir and the surge in radicalisation of the Muslim society through conversion of indigenous 'Etqadees' to Wahabi cult on the strength of gun.
The GOI needed to take immediate effective steps to stop the illegal inflow of enormous foreign funds and sternly deal with the recipients indulging in the criminal activity. The central and state governments also need to redesign their strategic response to the new integrated terror thrust which includes street action during the operations to interfere with security forces' operations to the advantage of terrorists, collection of people for pro-terrorist demonstration after the operations and finally forcing people to come out in large number to join the funeral processions of gunned down terrorists.
He said, "This government has decided to hand over the displaced Hindus from Kashmir to the very forces who brought about their genocide in Kashmir. They want them to be absorbed in the milieu in Kashmir which is fully Islamised. BJP can betray Hindus of Jammu and in fact it is already betraying them everyday. Whole J&K state is being pushed into the hands of Pan-Islamism. We have a battle of survival in front of us. We cannot trust the political instruments like BJP and Congress. We can no longer trust Government of India because it has betrayed us time and again."
Prof Hari Om, in his presidential address, said, "From Vajpayee to Manmohan Singh to Narendra Modi, it is a story of New Delhi's willful retreat from Jammu and Kashmir and destruction of nationalist minorities in the state. Vajpayee would have bartered J&K to please Pakistan and Kashmiri separatists, had the awakened nation not booted out of power the BJP-led NDA government in May 2004. The memory of what transpired at Colombo between Jawwant Singh and Niaz Naik during his regime is too fresh to be forgotten. Manmohan started from where Vajpayee left. He too would have accommodated Pakistan in J&K, had Pak President Pervez Musharraf been in power in Pakistan or had he not been dethroned. Manmohan and many Pakistani former ministers and diplomats repeatedly said that the "Kashmir solution" was "only a signature away". India and Pak had almost agreed to implement the break J&K and India sinister formula and the people of Jammu province and Ladakh region would have by now become a story of the past as it happened to the minorities in Pakistan, including Lahore. Narendra Modi who got a massive nationalist mandate in 2014 too has been leaving no stone unturned to drive J&K out of India. Now, we have a written document, called the PDP-BJP Agenda Of Alliance, which has unequivocally called Pakistan and Hurriyat as "stakeholders" in J&K and provided for demilitarization, withdrawal of AFSPA, vacation of Army's strategic camps, division of Jammu into three regions on religious and ethnic lines and transfer of national power projects to J&K government. The Agenda of Alliance has, in addition, granted plenipotentiary powers to the state government so that it could facilitate talks between India and Pakistan on Jammu and Kashmir and unsettle the settled issue to the happiness of seditionists in Kashmir and their mentor Pakistan. Not only the Agenda of Alliance, BJP has handed over almost everything to Kashmir and reduced Jammu to the status of Kashmir's colony and its citizens to the status of third grade subjects whose life is not one of political and economic aspirations. Indeed, the situation is alarming and the real danger to the nation and people of Jammu province is from Indian political class and Delhi durbar, who are fighting against the Indian nation itself and retreating from J&K inch by inch. The JFI will not allow this to happen."
