Inter district cricket tourney of U/17 girls
Jammu lifts the trophy

Jammu, Aug 28: The department of Youth Services and Sports, under the directions of Joint Director Madan Lal, organised inter District Division Level Cricket tournament for U/17 Girls here at Sports Stadium Kathua in which 44 players of three Districts viz Kathua, Samba and Jammu participated.
The organising committee comprising DDC Kathua Ramesh Kumar as chairman, CEO Kathua Balbir Singh as vice chairman, DYSSO Kathua Sunil Kumar as organising secretary and Joginder Kumar Khajuria as assistant organising Secretary.
In first league Match, Kathua after winning toss decided to bat first and collect 38 runs in prescribed 10 overs with the loss of 05 wickets.
In reply, Jammu achieved the target just in 3.4 overs without losing any wicket. Sonika of Jammu collected 23 runs in 13 deliveries with the help of 4 boundaries and Nancy of same district collected 7 runs with a boundary in 8 balls. Hence Jammu trounced Kathua by 10 wickets.
In second match which is played between Jammu and Samba was also won by Jammu. While batting first Samba could collect only 18 runs in 10 overs and declined totally in front of Jammu.
The target was easily obtained by Jammu just in 2.3 overs without losing any wicket. Earlier, Isha of Jammu clinched 5 wickets of Samba in 2 overs by giving only 2 runs and Nancy Gill of Jammu got 3 wickets of Samba in 2 overs by giving 5 runs. In this way Jammu defeated Samba in second Match. In third league match Samba faced Kathua in which Kathua gave the target of 48 runs in 10 overs by losing 09 wickets and in reply Samba could not chase the target in prescribed 10 overs and can collect only 42 runs. Hence Kathua won by 06 runs. In these league matches Jammu lifted the trophy of u/17 Girls Cricket by winning it's all two matches and Kathua remained runner up by winning one match out of two.
Matches were officiated by Mohan Lal Dub, Sunil Kumar, Ram Lubaya, Kulbhushan Singh, Kajal Premi. Rajesh Kumar, Darshan Kumar, Avnesh Kumar, Raghbir Puri, Rani Devi were also present on the occasion.
