PSA slapped against Lawyer for anti national activities

Kishtwar, Aug 28: In its continuous drive against the miscreants involved in alleged anti National, anti India propaganda in Doda District, Deputy Commissioner Doda Bhupinder Singh issued warrant against local advocate under Public Safety Act (PSA) followed by his arrest late Saturday night and shifted him to Jammu jail soon after his arrest. As per the details available with "Early Times", Doda police arrested 28 year old Advocate Babar Hassan Nehru who was also a member of Anjuman-e-Islamia Doda, an amalgam of Muslim organization announcing shutdown calls in retaliation to the civilians killings in ongoing Kashmir unrest. Accused of instigating people to raise anti India, pro Freedom and anti national sloganeering, the advocate was arrested by the police late last night from Shah Mohallah in Faridabad locality of Doda. The accused, according to sources was evading arrest since August 16, 2016 following the arrest of another youth Rehmat-ul-lah Butt under PSA. Sources informed "Early Times " that police had lodged at least 3 FIRs against him in anti-national activities in last two months. The accused was a practicing lawyer at Doda Court and was popular among the youths of Doda . The accused had crashed into Deputy Commissioner's office in Doda breaking the main gate which brought him under police scanner since then. As per the sources, like Rehmat-tul-lah, Babar Nehru was also a part of the protests that took place in Doda including in the protest that took place on 12-08-2016 for which an FIR No. 173/2016 under section 120B, 124 A,154 A RPC stands registered at police station Doda in which the accused Rehmat-tul-lah and Babar Nehru along with several youths were named by the police after police-public clashes took place in Doda town in which SSP Doda Zahid Naseen Manhas, Dy. SP HQ Doda Abdul Qayoom Rounyal, SHO Doda Udhay Shankar Wazir, beside over a dozen people including police personals and civilians were injured. After slapping PSA, police shifted Babar Nehru to Kotbalwal jail in Jammu. The sources further informed "Early Times" that Doda police had prepared more dossiers against the trouble shooters and had launched a manhunt to arrest them as many of these trouble shooters according to police sources had gone underground after carrying out anti national activities.
