Bee Enn enacts rare feat to save premature twins

Jammu, Aug 28: Bee Enn hospitals has reported a rare feat in the field of Neonatal care in Jammu and Kashmir.
The birth of twins is in general a high risk procedure. The risk level increases manifold if the procedure involves premature twin babies. The team at Bee Enn hospital led by the eminent neonatologist Dr. Vikas Mahajan has successfully managed the birth of 26 week wins. Born way before the normal gestation period of 40 weeks, the babies weighed barely 750 grams each at the time of birth. They were kept on ventilators for 20 days and finally discharged with no major complications.
The team belongs to the first NICU (Neonatology Intensive Care Unit) facility of the state established by Bee Enn Hospital in the year 2009.
Dr. Vikas Mahajan, a gold medalist from GMC, Jammu, was trained at PGI Chandigarh and has undertaken 2 years neonatal fellowship at the leading hospital of pediatrics in Canada, McMaster Children Hospital.
Under his supervision the NICU team at Bee Enn Hospital has successfully managed the births of 1000 plus high risk babies.
