Jammu, Oct 11: An Art Exhibition of the water colour paintings by Ashwani Verma, an Art Educationist in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Jammu region, concluded at Indian Academy of Fine Arts (IAFA), Amritsar on Tuesday. The exhibition was opened on 8th October, 2016 by A S Gill, Assistant Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Jammu region in presence of P S Grover Gen. Secretary, AS Chamak and S. Shivdev Singh. The exhibition titled 'Moods of Nature' consisted of thirty six paintings and the show was organized by IAFA, Amritsar. Ashwani Verma is known for his water colour landscapes. His paintings are executed masterly in the medium of water colours. He has been in practice of water colour landscapes for the last about thirty five years and has done great contribution in promoting this medium that is otherwise practiced in a lesser manner. He has done M A in Fine Arts from Punjab University, Chandigarh and has participated in many national and state level art exhibitions and camps at New Delhi, Chandigarh, Shimla, Ujjain, Dhima Pur (Arunachl Pradesh), Kurukshetra, Ludhiana, Ambala, Panchkula, Mohali, Patiala, Faridkot and Dharamshala. He is the recipient of National Award for Teachers by President of India and National KVS Incentive Award by KVS, New Delhi. He has been awarded by Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar (nine times), Camel Foundation, New Delhi, All India Prints & Crafts Society, New Delhi, LCS Museum, Shimla, Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi, Chandigarh, Pb. Heritage, Jalandhar, Himalayan National Art Exhibition, Dharamshala etc. and honoured 27 times by various organizations. |
